Gay marriage has arrived

Gay marriage is now legal! If you’re planning that big day, we can suggest a few places to make it magical.

The Rectory

Romantic, rural and beautifully restored, The Rectory is set in three acres of Victorian walled garden in the famously idyllic Cotswolds. Just 90 minutes from London, this 12-bedroom country house hotel is licensed to hold intimate ceremonies for up to 60 guests.

The Grove

The Grove is set in the beautiful countryside of west Wales, just over 1.5 hours’ drive away from Cardiff. Choose between a sunny summer wedding in a marquee on the lawn, or a candlelit ceremony beside an open fire in the traditional Panelled Room.

The Gherkin

The Gherkin’s restaurant and bar (levels 39 and 40) are licensed for weddings and civil partnerships via Searcys. Bring friends, family and enjoy a wedding to remember surrounded by panoramic views of the best known London sights.

Royal Palaces

If these aren’t spectacular enough, you can always take things even more upmarket and get married at a royal palace. Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Banqueting House and Kew Palace are available via Historic Royal Palaces.

Hi Martin, please do let me know if you’re planning another blog or article on gay marriage or civil partnerships. Summer Lodge is a 5* country house hotel in Dorset and have welcomed several CP’s in the past. We’d love to be included in your blogs or articles.

    With kind regards,
