Taking an open-top bus tour is a great way to get a feel for a city when you first arrive. You can see how streets link up, where all the attractions are, and get an idea of where you might like to revisit on foot later in your trip. Plus, you’re bound to learn something interesting about even the most famous or familiar sights.
London teems with bus tours all offering various routes and packages, but for our money, one of the most worthwhile is the See London by Night Bus Tour.
There’s something magical about the capital at dusk, luminous in the glow from a thousand cars, brash neon signs, arty shop windows and beautifully lit buildings. See the London Eye as a shimmering disc reflected in the River Thames, cruise around Piccadilly Circus basking in the glare of the huge neon adverts and cross a floodlit Tower Bridge.
The tour is a 1 hour and 25 minute panoramic tour starting from Green Park heading towards Kensington, Royal Albert Hall, Natural History Museum, Harrods, Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Waterloo Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, Tower Bridge then making its way back along the Embankment to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket and back to Green Park.
